artist statement

Emily Clayton born and raised in Brooklyn New York is currently an undergraduate student at Hunter College. Emily began her carrier in media working as a photographer’s assistant in 2012, not long after she moved away from commercial photography and began shooting recreationally. While her portfolio includes work in fashion and landscape photography, she is most known for her street photography. At the age of 17 her high school romance introduced her to cinematography, he would invite to assist on whatever project he was working on. Emily didn’t take these projects seriously up until she was asked to co-direct a music video. She fell in love with working as a director and has been working on music projects since. Emily is also a lover of film and is currently working on a screenplay.
